Normally, Nintendo games from NES to Nintendo 64 came packaged with a box, booklet, and gray colored cartridge upon purchase. However, some game cartridges were released with variant colors, and this was no exception for the N64.
Of the 296 NTSC released N64 games, only 42 were released with a non-gray color. Ironically, 13 of the 42 games were re-released as gray cartridges.
In this guide, you will find a complete list of every different colored N64 game released for NTSC. We’ve also included the current market value for each game and whether or not a gray-cart version was released.
As always, you can find the best retro gaming content gamex.gg!
007 The World Is Not Enough
Cart Color: Blue
Gray Variant: Yes
This is the 2nd 007 game released on the Nintendo 64. Unfortunately it does not live up to its predecessor, Goldeneye 007, and is a more common N64 game. The blue cartridge is worth slightly more than the gray-cart version.
Aidyn Chronicles: The First Mage

Aidyn Chronicles was released in 2001, near the end of the N64’s life cycle. The gray-cart variant of this game is hard to find, with a current value of $150-$200!
All-Star Baseball 2001
Cart Color: Red
Gray Variant: No
It’s a sports game, so it’s not worth much, but the red cartridge color makes it stand out from the crowd! Also, this game has a 9.2/10 review score on GameSpot, so not a bad pick-up if you’re a baseball fan.
Armorines: Project S.W.A.R.M.
Cart Color: Black
Gray Variant: No
Although the Turok series was a fantastic contribution to the N64 by Acclaim, Armorines was not. With an average review score of 5/10, it’s not surprising that this game is valued under $10. The black cart and label art look cool though!
Army Men: Air Combat
Cart Color: Green
Gray Variant: Yes
This was the 3rd green colored cartridge released. In total, 4 green colored cartridges were released on the N64, all of which you will see on this list! The gray-cart variant is worth more, with a current value of $30-$35.

Based on the hit TV show Batman Beyond, this game was published by non-other than Ubisoft (creator of Assassin’s Creed). Although the reviews are sub-par, it’s the only Batman Beyond game ever to be released, so it’s a must try for fans of the show.
BattleTanx Global Assault
Cart Color: Green
Gray Variant: No
This is the first green cartridge game to be released on the N64. This is the sequel to BattleTanx, and while the N64 version received great reviews, the PlayStation port was just terrible. Unfortunately, 3DO went bankrupt before another BattleTanx sequel could be released.
